Sigh Styles Concept for Sunstar: Botanical Print for S/S 2014

There is no Spring season here in the Philippines, but Summer? Yes, we do have it!  Fashion-wise the two seasons: Spring/Summer do go together.  I was at the verge of conceptualizing and reviving cyEcle - my 2011 online shop via blogspot then.  But this time, I needed a more dynamic and hyper-shopper type of audience.  So I re-launched that online clothing shop thru OLX.Ph (familiar with it?), and for the first time I also learned how to create a page in facebook.  With my on and off contributions with Sunstar newspaper, which may have possibly gathered more audience for the re-launch, I suggested a fashion trend -BOTANICAL PRINT - that best fit for Spring-Summer seasons and did receive instant approval for another feature.

Sunstar is always entitled to create its own interpretation of the trend.  The feature was out on May 2, 2014 still at Shopping Bag section of the newspaper.
It was entitled PICK FLOWERS, in time for the month of May, the month of Flores de Mayo, where flowers are brought by children and teens to Church to be offered to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The next 4 photos made it on print.

cyEcle houses a melange of vintage and contemporary clothing, not to mention a motley of chic styles and prints, which always include prints that we have learned from our botany class: the FLORALS.
I named the first collection of cyEcle's re-launch:
IN FULL BLOOM, where botanical prints - from tropicals to florals - are showcased.

I am very thankful for my uber supportive officemates who graced the photo shoot as my models.  They all modeled like a pro. Thanks a lot to Emely, Dani, Celeste and Jerly. And to Macky, who generously shared his artistic talents in make-up and hair styling.

Eight Reasons Why Thailand Is Indeed Amazing

Thailand has been dubbed as the Land of Smiles and its catchy tag line is "Amazing Thailand" .  I have gone to Bangkok , the capital of Thailand, three times and my latest trip last January of this year was unbelievably filled with all the fun, adventure and terrific blissful moments that are worth for keeps in my yottabye memory. Without hesitation and with confidence, I certainly agree that Thailand is indeed an amazing place to spend time for vacation and even a pleasant place to settle down.  Though I've only been in Bangkok (and in Nonthaburi), but Bangkok offers all the reasons why I should keep visiting to their capital and to their country as well. With my phenomenal experiences, I am revealing my top 8 reasons why Thailand is Indeed Amazing. (1) The PLACE The land area of Bangkok is really vast, and the place that I would love to go back again and again is the area of SIAM.  I find it as the heart of Bangkok.  This is w...

Sigh Styles for SunStar's Concept: Grunge Throwback

I was tasked again to do a photo shoot for Sunstar newspaper fashion spread on GRUNGE Fashion.  It was officially published on October 18, 2013. The next 5 pictures made it on print. 'The most important event in 1990s fashion was the rise of Grunge fashion in 1992. Grunge fashion was influenced by grunge music, which achieved mainstream popularity in 1992, due to the mainstream success of Nirvana and their hit single Smells Like Teen Spirit. The grunge style resulted in a decline in bright colours, and was dominated by plaid flannel shirts, stonewashed blue jeans, and dark colours like maroon, forest green, indigo, and brown. White and black were also popular colours in grunge style. It was considered the most depressing, angst filled style.  via wikipedia Grunge fashion popularized Doc Martens style shoes and boots, and high-top sneakers in red, indigo, forest green, and black (such as Chuck Taylor All-Stars). It emphasized long hair, which most teen a...

Sigh Styles Concept for Sunstar: Plus Size is In

Gone are the days when the "curvy" ladies are hiding in their shells.  Everyone is equally treated now.  The big and small are now sharing the same spotlight. I have been contributing to SUNSTAR newspaper since 2013 and have styled and photographed models that have skinny figures.  Last April of this year, I realized, why not feature a 'curvy' model and explore the fashion of plus sizes. I was overwhelmed to get another nod by Ms. Kara Mae Noveda to do a photo shoot for PLUS SIZE Fashion which was featured in SUNSTAR newspaper - Shopping Bag section on May 23, 2014. The next 5 photos below made it on print. My styling for this Plus Size concept encompasses the idea of the body as a canvass to express one's self through fashion and strut daily that exuding confidence, telling the world, who cares if I'm not skinny. Being chubby or plump or obese is not a hindrance to look good and feel good about oneself.  And in fashion, being overweight is ...
