Jakarta 2014

November 2014 was my first time to step on the reddish brown soils of Jakarta, Indonesia.  I traveled there together with my manager from my day job for a 3-day business trip.  I am sharing to you now what I have seen in Jakarta as captured through my sister's Sony digital camera.  Apologizing for some grainy takes. Enjoy.

I did begun collecting souvenir spoons from my travels abroad some few years ago.  The spoon above though, did not go home with me.
<F.Y.I. - a collector of spoons is called a cochlearist via HERE>

The hotel where we stayed: Swiss-Belhotel in Mangga Besar.

BATIK is the traditional fabric of Indonesia.  It is the country's most developed art form.  The word batik is thought to be derived from the word 'ambatik' which when translated means 'a cloth with little dots'.

J.CO Donuts & Coffee is a lifestyle cafe retailer in Indonesia specializing indonuts, coffee and frozen yogurt. J.CO began trading in June, 2005 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

SENSE Jakarta Restuartant is a dining theater located at the fifth floor of Mangga Dua Square. Sense offers fine dining experience coupled with unlimited entertainment.

This seems to be a wall of fame for international artists from other parts of Asia like Taiwan (Ella, Jerry Yan), Japan and even Philippines (Christina Bautista), who, I would assume, may have performed at Sense Restaurant.

A view of Jakarta from our hotel room.

Eating my favorite OREOLOGY at J.Co.  I tried on COCO LOCO and I went indeed loco!  Though the same donuts are being sold here in J.Co Philippines but Jakarta's version are superb, maybe because they're the origin.

I love to shop at Mangga Dua Square.  Such a huge shopping destination.

Sigh Styles for Beautiful Horizon 2nd Edition Brochure

Beautiful Horizon had just celebrated its momentous first year anniversary on October 19, 2014 and I am glad that Sigh Styles have played a part behind the making of their 2nd edition brochure.

To date, Beautiful Horizon (BHI) has already 2 branches here in Cebu City, the first store is located at the 2nd floor of  Colonnade Mall in Colon and the other branch is in Mandaue City.  BHI had also opened branches outside of Cebu as they are already reaching out in Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Tacloban and Iloilo.

PAUL JAKE CASTILLO on the cover and the product endorser for the first ever Eau de Parfum (perfume) of Beautiful Horizon - The Perfect Bachelor Eau de Parfum by Paul Jake Castillo.
Sigh Styles was tasked to style for the product shoot of I HEART U Teens Cologne.

Add caption
The cologne is specifically targeted for the teen female market and comes in 3 variants: PURE HEART (red), SWEET HEART (pink) and CLEVER HEART (violet).

The model / endorser is the 14 year-old daughter of the general manager of Beautiful Horizon. She flew in from Manila just for the photo shoot.

The selection for the outfits of this photo shoot is based on the color scheme of the cologne variants and also complementary to the description of each variant.

BTS of the photo shoot...

This outfit is initially intended for I HEART U - PURE Heart variant:
the look uses a monochromatic color scheme, accessorized with pearls to add elegance

PINK is the best color for the I HEART U - SWEET Heart variant as the color is always associated with feminity, youthfulness, being precious and favored.  Pink is also the color of princesses, hence the accessories had to include a tiara and added with the glitz of the faux diamond blings.

This outfit is head-to-toe purple, as the I HEART U - CLEVER Heart variant is tainted in this hue.  The look is a melange of geek chic and girl-next-door.  It calls out, "I'm young, hip, trendy and smart!"

The red knit skirt is a no-brainer indication that this outfit is for the I HEART U - PURE Heart variant.  The off-whitish color is apparent but the supersaturated red color is a stand out.   Pearl embellishments ensures the whole outfit to be classy and refined.

I HEART U Colognes are exclusively distributed by Beautiful Horizon.  Go to the nearest BHI store near you or contact your dealers now. For those who do not know any BHI dealers, you can order the colognes from me, post your inquiry / order in this post or email me at sighstyles@gmail.com

Hong Kong 2014

Went to Hong Kong last month for a business trip and captured the region with a 10-megapixel digital camera, with apologies for some of the grainy photos.

This is my third time to step on the soils of Hong Kong, but my first time to explore the place thru the MTR.
from Yau Ma  Tei station (red)  in Kowloon to Tung Chung (yellow) as we were heading for AsiaWorld-Expo in Lantau island
Also hopped on to this double-decker buses from the airport to Nathan Road Kowloon via A-21 City Flyer and vice versa.
Tourists and locals shopping at the Ladies Night Market in Mongkok, Kowloon.

A view of Kowloon from our room on the 17th floor of City View Hotel located along Waterloo Road.

This white patent leather flats with embellishment was bought at Ladies Night Market at a price of 120 HKD during this trip and was worn on the first day of the exhibition that we attended at AsiaWorld-Expo.

Strolling at the Avenue of the Stars while we wait for the Symphony of Lights show.

Souvenir items sold at the Ladies Night Market.  Bought a Hong Kong bell as requested by my sister (it's her collection)

The famous and lively Nathan Road.

Cable cars in Lantau Island

Every time I travel, I always see to it that I get to buy a pair of shoes.  What attracted me most are these platform shoes and sandals. And so I did bought one platform sandal, as posted HERE.

When was your last travel to Hong Kong? Share your stories...

Sigh Styles Promotes - Origami Topiary by Rotessa

Hi.  I am back for another promotional post for an individual with an ingenious, visionary mind and skillfully adept hands.  This time it's for a close friend of mine.  Her name is Rotessa and she is the brains behind R2S Origami Creations.

This is the new creation of R2S Origami Creations by Rotessa.
This is actually called an artificial topiary, but can also be called "origami topiary" as the flowers are in origami.  This is quite extraordinary as the ray florets are made of paper but the disc florets are actual lollipops ( I'm not promoting the brands of the lollipops).

This origami topiary can actually be given as a unique gift or can be used as centerpieces for special gatherings like birthday parties with candy land or fairy land concepts.

You can order the exact style of origami topiary as in the pictures or you can have it customized according to your concept.

If you are interested to order this origami topiary, you can email me at sighstyles@gmail.com and I will certainly connect you to Rotessa.  You can also directly contact Rotessa at this number 09235544641.

And you might have remembered my other  posts mentioning about R2S Origami Creations, do check out my posts HERE and HERE for their beautiful and crafty works.
