Blending In With My Personal Style + Style Tips!

Transferring to a new location have initially distressed me. Everything was unaccustomed and I was back to zero, career-wise. Then,  I was also in direly wanting to activate my Fashion Styling skills. T he artist in me had a compelling fighting spirit. Why be afraid, why hide, why remain dormant?  So, I went online and befriended creative minds alike.  And guess what? Last quarter of this year, I have successfully made my very first fashion styling collaboration with amazing Filipino talents in the field of photography here in Doha, Qatar and finally got acquainted with my online-turn-real-life friends: Eds Dela Cruz and Christine Lyn Espinosa . Part of resettling is the embracing of foreign culture and adapting to their lifestyle which includes dressing up according to their norms.  If you have been following this blog, you might have known by now that my personal style has permanently gravitated to a direction that always had a touch of modesty.  I ...

Pink Philosophy: How to Be Subtle Yet Obvious in Ballet Slippers and There's More To It Than Just Being Skin-Deep Kawaii

Wait... I am not a ballerina!   So, what's the fuss with ballet slippers in my title? I'm not going to talk about "that" footwear in this post.  The world of fashion has baptized new names to the colors of the rainbow by associating it with things we are familiar with, like for example: yellow to Butterscotch , gray to Pebble and yes, pink to Ballet Slippers . My vacation to the Philippines last August, has given me the chance to reunite with my wardrobe, which I missed seriously, play dress-up and be all out in my favorite Ballet Slippers = Pink!   Here's my take on one of A/W 2017 colors :  Ballet Slippers , s ubtly monochromatic yet still obviously color-coordinated in pink, right? But honestly, there's more to the color pink than just being on trend now and leaving an image of skin-deep bubbliness and irresistibly kawaii. My Pink Philosophy: Pink has always been a color identified to Barbie and for anything girly and youthful.  Des...

Engagement Fashion Styling: Ryan & Celeste

Sharing in this post the fashion styling I have done a year ago for the engagement photo shoot of my former officemate and friend, CELESTE and her husband, RYAN . I have prepared four fashion styling sets basing on the couple's preferences. Each set incorporated the color coherence element from my personal fashion advocacy.  Enjoy the beautiful photos and hope you can take some inspiration on these concepts for your future engagement photo shoots.  You can see the complete photos from the photographer's website HERE . SET ONE "all about midnight blue, a touch of white and sparkle of pearls" SET TWO "all about coral, salmon and some khaki" SET THREE "all about the white shirt love, that denim love, puppy love and with shades on" SET FOUR "for the amour of lavender, some florals and hints of country and vintage" Photography:  Mildred Zapanta-Capuya...

Second, and Last Styling Stint for Beautiful Horizon Inc.

It has been ages since my last blog post. But, hey, I am back and I have a number of stories that I want to share. This post is about my last styling stint for Beautiful Horizon Inc., the direct selling sister company of the company that I worked for more than a decade.  See HERE to refresh you.  I emphasized that this was the last  styling stint I did for them, for two reasons: (1) BHI decided to move to Manila and set-up the main office there; and (2) it has been three months since I finally disconnected myself from that company I loved for quite a long, long period. I am sharing to you now the three looks I was told to prepare with a short notice.  But only two of the ensemble made it on print.  See the printed shots from the brochure and leaflets and the BTS during the actual photo shoot.   The first look - as pictured above, made it on print on the quarterly issued brochure.   I honestly can no longer reme...
