Sigh Styles for SunStar's Concept: Grunge Throwback

I was tasked again to do a photo shoot for Sunstar newspaper fashion spread on GRUNGE Fashion.  It was officially published on October 18, 2013.

The next 5 pictures made it on print.

'The most important event in 1990s fashion was the rise of Grunge fashion in 1992. Grunge fashion was influenced by grunge music, which achieved mainstream popularity in 1992, due to the mainstream success of Nirvana and their hit single Smells Like Teen Spirit. The grunge style resulted in a decline in bright colours, and was dominated by plaid flannel shirts, stonewashed blue jeans, and dark colours like maroon, forest green, indigo, and brown. White and black were also popular colours in grunge style. It was considered the most depressing, angst filled style.

Grunge fashion popularized Doc Martens style shoes and boots, and high-top sneakers in red, indigo, forest green, and black (such as Chuck Taylor All-Stars). It emphasized long hair, which most teen and pre-teen girls already had, and which a few teen and pre-teen boys adopted. Grunge fashion was a unisex phenomenon. Although the grunge look was considered "anti-fashion", the fashion industry made it a distinct fashion style by selling plaid items like hooded sweatshirts, sweatshirt vests, long sleeved t-shirts and shorts. Grunge fashion remained popular through 1994. via the wikipedia
Though flannel plaid shirts remained popular through 1997, fashion started to move away from many of the other plaid styles in 1994. Waffle-patterns became popular on sweatshirts and polo shirts with colours such as white, beige and red, and remained popular until 1995. Olive green t-shirts, sweatshirts and dress shirts were all the rage in 1994 and 1995. Olive green remained more or less popular through 1998. Grey also became popular, and Oatmeal and wheat started to become popular with girls and women. Bowling shirts became popular, and remained more or less popular for the remainder of the 1990s. In the fall of 1994, bell-bottom jeans were replaced with wide-leg jeans. White denim became fashionable among guys as well as girls.' via the wikipedia
“Grunge is nothing more than the way we dress when we have no money,”[1] the designer Jean Paul Gaultier toldVogue in 1993, the year fashion co-opted the look. It had grown out of the raw, messy scene surrounding the raw, messy sound—produced by a bedraggled pack of flannel-clad Pacific Northwest dropouts—that was suddenly the talk of the fashion establishment. via http://www.vogue.com/voguepedia/Grunge

Shopping in Woodstock and Kennesaw, Georgia, U.S.A.

Woodstock is a city in Cherokee County, Georgia, United States. The population was 29,898 at the 2015 census. Originally a stop on the Louisville and Nashville Railroad, Woodstock is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. And Kennesaw is a city northwest of Atlanta, Georgia. The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History displays weapons and a steam locomotive.
When I travel, aside from exploring famous tourist attractions of the place, my next favorite must-do is Shopping!

When in the cities Woodstock and Kennesaw in the state of Georgia, you will be amazed with the wide array of shopping destinations which are just a few meters drive away from each other.

My three-week vacation in Woodstock had allowed me to explore the varied shopping establishments of the cities of Woodstock and Kennesaw.

Below is the summarized list of the type shops and the names of the specific commercial establishments that I have visited and shopped at and further below are the snapshots I collected f…

Eight Reasons Why Thailand Is Indeed Amazing

Thailand has been dubbed as the Land of Smiles and its catchy tag line is "Amazing Thailand".  I have gone to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, three times and my latest trip last January of this year was unbelievably filled with all the fun, adventure and terrific blissful moments that are worth for keeps in my yottabye memory.
Without hesitation and with confidence, I certainly agree that Thailand is indeed an amazing place to spend time for vacation and even a pleasant place to settle down.  Though I've only been in Bangkok (and in Nonthaburi), but Bangkok offers all the reasons why I should keep visiting to their capital and to their country as well.
With my phenomenal experiences, I am revealing my top 8 reasons why Thailand is Indeed Amazing.

The PLACE

The land area of Bangkok is really vast, and the place that I would love to go back again and again is the area of SIAM.  I find it as the heart of Bangkok.  This is where shopping malls are like a hair-strand away fr…

Blending In With My Personal Style + Style Tips!

Transferring to a new location have initially distressed me. Everything was unaccustomed and I was back to zero, career-wise. Then, I was also in direly wanting to activate my Fashion Styling skills. The artist in me had a compelling fighting spirit. Why be afraid, why hide, why remain dormant? So, I went online and befriended creative minds alike.  And guess what? Last quarter of this year, I have successfully made my very first fashion styling collaboration with amazing Filipino talents in the field of photography here in Doha, Qatar and finally got acquainted with my online-turn-real-life friends: Eds Dela Cruz and Christine Lyn Espinosa.

Part of resettling is the embracing of foreign culture and adapting to their lifestyle which includes dressing up according to their norms.  If you have been following this blog, you might have known by now that my personal style has permanently gravitated to a direction that always had a touch of modesty. I prefer covering my extremities, wearing …
